May 7th Update!
Hello Families! It’s hard to believe that our Kindergarteners
will soon be on their way to First Grade! We have so many fun activities
planned for the end of the year. The field trip is scheduled for May 21st.
Please remember that each chaperone
attending needs to fill out a Chaperone Letter of Understanding form. We will go rain or shine! Our end
of the year picnic will also be a lot of fun. More information will come home
about that in the near future.
The students are doing wonderfully in class. In Math, we have
been working on tally marks, story problems and addition/subtraction problems. During the next two weeks, we will be focusing
on base ten blocks and different ways to make ten. The homework packet that I
sent home on Monday is full of great Math activities. Please make sure to help
your child complete the packet by 5/13.
In Writing, we will begin writing creative stories. You can
help your child at home by brainstorming
ideas for a short story. In Reading, we are working on fluency. They have been given many new "mini-books" for their reading bags. Sight word practice is still extremely important so keep practicing!
Looking for more ways
to help your child at home? Here are some great educational songs that we have been doing in class. Watch and sing
them at home!
Also, don’t forget that abcya.com and starfall.com have some
great reading and math activities.
Thank you for all you do!
