You will be receiving your child’s report card at that time.  If you have any questions please e-mail or write me.  Thank you!

Pick a number, find it, and stamp it!

MORE Sight word practice! The kids pick a word, read it, type it on the pretend keyboards and write it.

We are starting to learn about vowels!

The kids LOVE using the interactive whiteboard during centers.

Working Hard in Kindergarten!
We are learning the words "little" and "look" next week. We are also reviewing "have".  We will be working on the letter B, labeling, and much more. Also, it looks like you will be getting a report card on the day of your conference with me! If you have not returned your conference form please do ASAP. I plan on getting your times to you this week. Also, our aid, Mrs. S,  has been granted permission by the district to stay until January 22. We are crossing our fingers that it could even be longer. She has been a wonderful addition to our classroom! Thank you for returning the Reading Practice Packet every Monday and for working with your child. This is such an important time in their life and we want to see them grow academically as much as possible.  Please e-mail me if you would like to talk to me about your child. I can call you during my planning time or after school. I have been sending home updates as I have been assessing skills. I hope you find these useful. Thank you.

Science

The 5 Senses: Touch.
The children were given magazines. Each group had to find things that were either hard, soft, smooth, rough, hot or cold. We made posters and hung them in our room.

The 5 Senses: Taste
We talked about how we can taste sweet, salty, and sour. We tasted skittles, salt water and lemon juice! Above are a few pictures from the lemon juice!

October Learning Fun

We searched through magazines to find things that start with the P sound. This was also a fantastic fine motor activity.

Read and Write the room! We walk around the room and write words down to make a list.

We started to talk about measurement last week! We measured ourselves with pumpkins. She is 13 pumpkins tall!

Fine motor activity! We also talked about what shape had the MOST beans and what shape had the LEAST. We also talked about the term EQUAL.

Kim Powell visited our class to talk about online safety!

Learning to write a list and use the word wall. This really helped us learn how to spell our color words as well!

More measurement! We measured different sized pumpkins with cubes. The kids loved this non-standard measurement center!

Science! We played SOUND Bingo!

Meeting with Mrs. Seegert to work on reading skills.

Our new PLAY DOUGH center! We use play dough to make letters and sight words.

Shape Review Craft! We learned Humpty Dumpty and made a shape craft to go with it. We also searched for sight words within the rhyme.

Working on counting and one-to-one correspondence.

Working on graphing and identifying those tricky teens numbers!

Our Roll and Color Center works on quickly identifying dot patterns.

A fun Fall Counting Center. This also works on the "one more" concept.

We love listening to stories in the Media Center!

Last week we added the sight word "have" to our Popcorn word list. We worked on the letters H and P. Next week will be a review week!

Our district has decided to hold Parent Teacher Conferences on December 5th and 6th. More details will be coming home soon.

All Kindergarten classes will not be sending home report cards at the same time as the other grades. At conferences you will receive information on how your child is preforming in class.  However, the official report card will be coming home at a later date.   If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail. Thank you!
